Tokyo Harmony

Order, attention to detail, harmony... just some of the qualities that I appreciate about Japan. Our recent trip took us through Tokyo for a few days. The ever-present respect for harmony can be seen in the coexistence of tradition and modernity: luxury hotels calmly bounding an emperor's private garden with 3,000 year old pines, a young family dressed in traditional wear walking through the JR on their way to a local Shinto shrine, or the merchants bartering at the fish market in the early morning, just as their predecessors have done for generations.

Japan reminds us that the present is a constant weaving of past and future, and we seek that harmony in our lives and designs.
