Embracing Kyoto Tradition
Formerly the Imperial capital of Japan for over 1,000 years, Kyoto is a city full of heritage and rich traditional Japanese culture.
I spent two beautiful days immersing myself in the pleasant Japanese lifestyle by staying at a classic RyoKan, taking a 2-hour hike to see the highest point of the Fushimi Inari Taisha, and surrendering myself to the breathtaking Kinkaku Ji and Nijo Castle (also listed as UNESCO World Heritage). And of course my favorite part of the trip was tasting the local cuisine (Kaiseki style).
The Japanese pay utmost attention to details in their daily life. You can easily understand that dedication through their design, service, public infrastructure, perfect public order, and the effort of preserving historical sites and culture practices.
